In order to create some of the strongest alloys, nickel can be alloyed with any other metal. Nickel alloy fasteners are regarded as having a high level of corrosion resistance and are recommended in many applications. The nickel alloy bolts (also known as nickel alloy fasteners) are typically used in applications where it must endure high temperatures. Ordinary steel alloys have a propensity to show degradation with oxidation, unlike nickel alloy threaded rod.
Nickel alloy bolts have some degree of resistance to reducing chemicals in addition to resistance to oxidation corrosion. Commercially wrought items, like nickel 200 fasteners, can be utilised at temperatures lower than 600 °F and still display exceptional corrosion resistance in caustic alkalies. Additionally, the UNS N02200 hex bolts exhibit exceptional resistance to dry fluorine and hydroxides. Compared to nickel 200, nickel 201 fasteners contain less carbon.
Both alloys are pure nickel alloy nuts that are commercially wrought. This alloy's low carbon concentration has resulted in a decrease in hardness. The UNS N02201 Studs are also known to inhibit intergranular carbon embrittlement by reducing their carbon concentration. The nickel alloy stud is typically unaffected by intergranular corrosion, which starts to damage normal steel at temperatures over 315°C.
