The word "duplex" is derived from the dual microstructure that these stainless steels' alloys include. Due to the material's excellent corrosion resistant qualities and combination of improved toughness and very high strength, 2205 duplex steel fasteners are preferred. Ideally, applications that require strong corrosion resistance benefit from the usage of 2205 Duplex Stainless Fasteners.
The alloy's chromium and nickel chemical make-up provides the Duplex Stainless Steel Fasteners with exceptional resistance to oxidative corrosion, pitting, and crevice corrosion. Furthermore, the alloy could be employed at high temperatures because nickel is a component of its chemical composition. Despite being exposed to applications where the temperature reaches 300°C, the 2205 duplex stainless steel bolts exhibit resistance to creep at high temperatures and maintain their strength.
Many Duplex Fasteners Manufacturers, however, forbid utilising the fasteners at this temperature since the material goes through a ductile to brittle transition phase. The duplex 2205 threaded rod loses its ductility and brittleness at this stage. Due to material breakdown brought on by brittle alloy, duplex stainless fasteners would become worthless. Even so, there is a solution for this issue. The Duplex 2205 Hex Bolts' ductility might be increased by solution annealing.
