Is SS 304 seamless pipe is suitable for the exhaust line?

The stainless steel 304 is a chromium nickel alloy with a composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. The substance is strong and generally corrosion resistant to some extent. Without scaling, the operational temperature range for continuous operation is up to 899 degrees Celsius. Between 300 and 1200 degrees Celsius are the operating range for the exhaust lines. Although it appears that some exhaust pipes can be made of 304 material, the main issue is that the pipes oxidise at high temperatures. The 304 pipes can easily oxidise under high temperatures since they are not oxidation resistant. So, even though oxidation is expected, 304 seamless pipes can be used as exhaust pipes.
