Like alloy 201, grade 202 stainless steel has a superior toughness property at lower temperatures. Contrary to the Stainless Steel 202 Welded Pipe, conventional stainless steels typically indicate failure by cracking at low temperatures and do not perform well in general. Many 202 Stainless Steel Pipe Manufacturers refer to the alloy as a precipitation hardening grade. The fundamental benefit of precipitation-hardened alloys is that they show an improvement in the steel's tensile strength.
The ASTM A312 UNS S20200 ERW Pipe has qualities like strong corrosion resistance and high toughness in addition to having high hardness and high tensile strength. By utilising typical fusion and resistance procedures, this alloy can be joined together during the welding process. However, the majority of producers advise against producing SS 202 Welded Pipe via oxyacetylene welding. The alloy's chromium concentration, which ranges from 17 to 19 percent, allows the ASME SA312 TP 202 Square Pipe to create a passivating oxide layer, giving it very strong resistance to oxidation-based deterioration.
Similar to grade 304, ASTM A358 tp 202 EFW pipe has insufficient Molybdenum concentration. Grade 304 has a substantially higher nickel concentration than SUS 202 schedule 40 pipe, nevertheless. As a result, the price of the austenitic stainless steel alloy 304 is astronomically more than the price of rectangular pipes of grade DIN 1.4373.
