Inconel 718 Bolts and Forging

AMEC approved Manufacturer and supplier of EN/DIN 2.4668 nut bolt and UNS N07718 Fasteners in India

The Inconel 718 hex bolt is a Gamma double prime reinforced alloy that has a reputation for having great weldability in terms of being joined. This classifies Inconel 718 as a high-performance superalloy.

The Alloy 718 studs exhibit many of the characteristics of superalloys, in keeping with their typical properties. Among these, its superior mechanical strength and resistance to thermal creep deformation are significant. Niobium or vanadium addition is used to reinforce nickel-based alloys that fall within the Gamma double prime category, such as the Alloy 718 forging.

The Inconel 718 stud bolts also exhibit excellent surface stability and have outstanding corrosion and oxidation resistance. This is the reason why these ASTM B637 UNS N07718 bolts are the perfect choice for use in the construction of turbine engines. The efficiency of turbine engines has grown along with an increase in turbine inlet temperatures because turbine engines operate on fundamental thermodynamic principles.

Many of our clients employ superalloy Inconel 718 forged rings due to the rise in temperatures. Since nickel is the main alloying component of Inconel, using Inconel 718 fasteners at elevated temperatures has no adverse effects on the application or the equipment being used. These Alloy 718 nuts can tolerate extremely high temperatures in addition to high pressures, making them effective in both situations.

718 Inconel Hex Head Bolts Welding

Inconel 718 bolts can be welded in either the annealed or matured condition and are renowned for having exceptional weldability. This is especially useful in situations that use weld studs. Inconel 718 bolts can be welded without solidifying or breaking due to its age solidifying property.

Nickel 718 Fasteners advantages
  • Minimize galling with proper coating and plating.
  • Often manufactured with MacLean-Fogg Lockthread
  • Minimize oxidation and corrosion at high temperature.
  • Specialty alloys to withstand up to 800 degrees Celsius.
  • Metric and Inch sizes available

Alloy 718 bolts forging processes

A single billet is heated to the desired temperature, which is lower than the alloy's melting point, and is then forged. Depending on the size and shape of the bolt that needs to be manufactured, the temperature is just below 1260 degrees Celsius. Then, it is forged by putting one metallic component up against another metallic component, both of which have grooves for the bolt's size and shape. If the bolt is a threaded bolt, it is then threaded by machining. Additionally utilised in structural applications are plain bolts. The aerospace components and oilfield accessories are two examples of high temperature, high corrosion prone uses for the bolts.
