The nickel-based Hastelloy family includes alloy C22. Hastelloy screws have an FCC microstructure, which indicates austenite is present because nickel is the main alloying element. Austenite alloys can typically display extremely high levels of ductility. Hastelloy C22 screws and other shapes are possible thanks to the metal's ductility feature. The shank of screws is threaded. Screws with threads enable a more secure and rapid fastening.
Hastelloy socket head cap screws are a flexible alloy that can be used in a variety of applications. The metal is used mostly as fasteners in marine engineering. The hastelloy set screws are perfect for use in maritime engineering or for applications in coastal areas due to the alloy's capacity to display higher resistance to both pitting and crevice corrosion. Hastelloy C set screws are resistant to oxidising environments due to the alloy's substantial chromium concentration. Similarly, the hastelloy c276 screws display sufficient resistance to reducing media due to the alloy's enhancement by the addition of molybdenum and tungsten.
