Because of their cheaper production costs, welded tubes are frequently preferred to their seamless counterparts. However, there is a far greater chance of cracking when using welded ASTM B626 tubingat high temperatures. Manufacturers of welded tubes adhere to the guidelines provided by standards like ASTM B626 to minimise these dangers. This standard specifically caters to metals with nickel and nickel-cobalt chemistry in their composition.
The ASTM B626 Hastelloy C22/C276 Welded Tube, which is intended for use in general applications as both heat exchanger and condenser tubes, works well for heat-resisting requirements. The flat-rolled alloy is used to create the ASTM B626 UNS N10276 Welded Tube. The specification mentions an automatic welding procedure for producing these tubes. As opposed to some alloys, ASME SB 626 N06022 Tubing is not filled during the welding process.
Descaling and solution annealing are additional techniques for providing the alloy in accordance with the standard. Descaling the ASTM B626 Welded Tube gives a smoother surface while solution annealing the material eliminates any existing unidentified precipitates. The longitudinal weld seam of the ASTM B626 Welded Tube can be reduced by utilising both of these procedures, giving the tube the impression of being seamless.
