One of the most widely used nickel alloys is inconel 600, which is frequently used in fields where resistance to high temperatures is essential. In addition, ASME SB 517 Alloy 600 Excellent corrosion resistance characteristics are displayed by welded pipe, especially when the alloy is heated to a high temperature. As with ASTM B517 specification, the astm b517 tube must be welded using an automatic process without the use of filler metal.
The specification specifies that the ASME SB 517 UNS N06600 Pipe must first undergo cold working before a final heat treatment is applied to the metal. The practise of cold working a component involves using either the weld metal or both the weld and the base metal. Since the ASTM B517 Welded Pipe is delivered with a scale-free finish, descaler is not necessary if bright annealing is to be used as the process.
The ASTM B517 Inconel 600 Welded Pipe must comply with the required requirements of the mechanical qualities, such as yield and tensile strength and elongation value, in addition to the criteria of the standard with regard to the chemical composition. A flattening test, a transverse guided bend test, and a nondestructive test are all performed on the ASTM B517 tubing material.
